$3,000 enough?

We are planning our honeymoon in europe from july 25-august 6th 2016. Flights and hotels are already booked, so is $3,000 each enough for 2 weeks? I Know it would be a little less once we converted to euros! We will be in UK,france, germany and iceland!

$3,000 USD each for 2 weeks is almost $430 USD per day. With all flights and accommodation handled separately you can easily have a gas on that much money per day.

Congrats.

Cheers,
Terry

Hi Molly, I live in Liverpool, England. $3000 will be enough for two weeks here, definitely. It works out about £140 per day, which will easily buy you food, alcoholic drinks etc.

I can't say for the other Germany, Iceland or Paris.

The other posters are right, it's loads of money.

Iceland is the most expensive of your destinations, and the capital cities of all of them are not cheap, but with flights and accommodation out of the equation you're just looking at food and drink, activities and ground transport. It depends on your travel style - gourmet dining and every night in bars would make a dent in it, but personally I'd spend around $50 a day on these things.

The way I read the OP is that they have $3,000 EACH... so even with a horrible exchange rate that's at least £260 per day... it doesn't matter where they go, they can have a fabulous time with loads of money left over...

Cheers,
Terry

Yeah of course, I also assumed the OP meant $3000 each. I note Molly is talking about USD? Which works out about £2000, divided by 14 days is £140 a day, each. It's more than enough Molly. Enjoy your trip!

Travel95, your arithmetic and exchange rate calculations are a bit skewered....

$3,000 USD each = $6,000 USD in total, which even at a crap rate of exchange = £3,650 which divided by 14 days = £260 per day.

When you're not paying for transport or accommodation that's a fairly crazy amount of money anywhere in the world...

Cheers,
Terry

You arrive at effectively the same figures. You at "£260 per day", Travel95 at "£140 a day, each", aka "£280 per day". Close enough to make no difference.

Yes, Terry, EACH. You double the amount per day as there is 2 of them. It's basic maths, I don't understand what your point is? Molly and her husband will have £140 a day, EACH give or take a few pounds (I got the exchange rate from Google)

Why are we still discussing this? We both pretty much agreed on the same figure in the initial posts.

The mind boggles..

Anyway, unsubscribing from this thread, have a fantastic trip, Molly.
