Hi there,
Uff, took me a while to track down that one... there was a problem with the auto-complete script when strange characters were used. I've fixed that now and got the table in. I'm not sure what else I might have broken in the mean time though, so note that Peter might override my change when he wakes up
I'll see what I can do about getting a new list like that... shouldn't be THAT much work
Hey Mike, a new list is now present. Rather than opt for all the ones that don't have an article, I thought I'd bring in all that don't have accommodation added to it yet, so there are a few there that are easy wins (article already present, just missing an accommodation table) Let me know if you notice anything weird going on with the list!
ps. I can already see there is a problem with articles having a different spelling (ie. Koh Samui vs Ko Samui). Will have to look at this when I get home...
Hey Sam, thanks and we'll see how this works out.
Since the (old) list was created, there have been quite a few places which got accommodation here on TP as well, so only a good thing.
The spelling is always difficult, I had/have those problems with the list for a long time and every know and then I find new things, make a redirection because of the different spelling and remove the other ones from the list.
But the more, the better I guess.... Will have a look at the new list and rest of the travelguide tomorrow I think...cheers!
Mike
Ok, had a quick look anyway.
The ones you changed manually, what was wrong with them by the way? Because they did have a table, which should be automatically updated once the sleepbot is unleashed...
Difficult regarding the list though: it seems that now there are less than before, because it's only with at least 4 accoms? Als, although you mentioned it, I don't understand why some of them already have existing articles, while there spelling is correct and the same as the ones which already have tables.
Last, but not least, I tried to handle countries one by one. Now I don't see them by country anymore.
Sorry for all the inconvenience guys
One last thing: I see the Sao Paulo City article is regerating the accom table over and over again, at least like 15 times or so by sleepbot. You can see it in the mainpage of travelguide at the top of the recent changes, but not in the list when opening the complete one. Like the thread I have seen today by HerrBert, same problem I guess
Hey Mike,
Yeah, I changed a bunch last night. Basically, for some reason, even though there was an accommodation table in those articles, they weren't actually properly linked with the table. I think it's down to some being done the old way, then the system being changed for inserting accommodation tables, and some of these not following along. Because the link isn't there, sleepbot also doesn't visit (and for example the links on the right to "10 hostels in Oslo" don't show). Often the "Use accommodation listings for xxx" is missing from these pages, or if it's there, then it's using an old city name that's been replaced: for example (note the right hand isn't showing the "On Travellerspoint" links).
While I was doing this, I hit the problem you mention with Sao Paolo (and also hit it on another page). I've passed this on to Peter, as that's above my head I didn't want to do any more until that's been fixed, as it locks up those pages and times out + gives an error when editing.
So yes, hit some snags here... I see you've reverted the list which is probably a good idea. Will try and have a better one generated soon!
Hey Sam,
Ok, it does make some more sense now
Hope both things can be fixed easily by Peter, so that the sleepbot can be unleashed again, or automatically updated when necessary.
As for now, we probably PM about this with Peter as well. Let's wait and see. The list is probably better like this I think and like I explained I probably find out which other places without an article are not in that list but do have accommodation here on TP.
Cheers
Mike
