Travelling to Indonesia....

Hi!

yes i am interested to travel indonesia for 2 weeks

hi claire

i see you have been there once. its a vast country, so if you're planning only for 2-3 weeks maybe u should adjust it with your taste. if u like some water-recreational spots, you could go to some sites which is known best for diving or snorkeling such as Raja Ampat, Bunaken, Wakatobi, Karimunjawa, or Lombok. but if you prefer to learn more about locals and its culture, perhaps wander around in Java island and Sumatera will be a good idea. some towns known for its rich cultures in Java are Jogjakarta and Bandung. there is also some good sights around such as volcanoes, temple, beaches, etc. in sumatera, lake toba is a must visit spot or if you like wildlife you cant visit Bukit Barisan National Park spreading across the island.

hope this is useful for u.

ps : i'm a locals

hi,

I can really recommend sumatra, I went for two weeks there and although there are not that many tourists you will find that you end up seeing the same people out and about.

There are some amazing places if you use medan as a hub. (excuse my spelling) but biket luang is amazing as you get to see oragutans- only other place apart from borneo to see them. Lake toba is beautiful, and has some lovely hot springs. If you head up north to Banda aceh, you can get a boat over to pulah weh, which is so nice and you will meet other travellers there and if it is your holiday it will give you the chance to relax.

I hope this helps

Hi Claire,

Since your holiday will be up to 3 weeks, consider that you had visited South West Sulawesi, and your returning point from Denpasar - Bali, might you could explore Java & Bali island by an overland. Start with few nights stop over from Jakarta -> Bogor, Puncak & Cipanas -> Lembang Highland, Ciater & Bandung -> Garut & Pangandaran Beach -> Yogyakarta & Solo -> Semarang & Karimunjawa Island -> Malang & Bromo --> Cross Bali Strait To Bali Island By Ferry --> Explore Bali island with overnight at Lovina Beach, Candidasa Beach & Kuta Beach -> Departure Return.

Those are my prelimenary suggestion if you would like to explore Java & Bali island. But it depends on your entry point to Indonesia. If your entry point will be in Denpasar - Bali & has big budget, then you could use; Denpasar - Bali --> Cross Lombok Strait To Lombok Island By Ferry --> Explore Lombok Island --> Cross By Ferry To Sumbawa & Explore The Island -> Joint Cruise By Live Boat & Explore Komodo Island, Sape Island, Rinca Island & Labuhanbajo -> Explore Flores Mainland Starting From Labuhanbajo -> End At Maumere City & Fly Back To Denpasar - Bali -> Explore Bali Island -> Departure Return

Also available routes selection if your interest to explore eastern part of Indonesia. But I'm sure that will be on high cost since you must fly frequently among the spots, even your entry point in Denpasar - Bali. The roads are not in a good condition from one province to another province in Kalimantan Island, Sulawesi Island & Papua Island.

Hopefully those our suggestion could help you in arranging your next travel references to Indonesia, and also we wish you could get the best traveling compagnion as soonest too.

Regards,
Nicolas Kosigin
