I recently had an organised tour of North east India through 'GETS HOLIDAYS' travel agency in New Delhi, India. Before signing the contract and paying the money, they seemed to be quite down to earth honest people but eventually they ditched me for a large sum of money. Can someone advise me how I can expose such unscrupulous elements to wider travelling community.

I have had assorted trouble with travel companies in Peru, Penang, the UK, Corfu and so on. It's part of travelling. All you can do is warn others in passing, but don't get obsessive over it. It's often better to pay by card as you then have a chance of doing something if cheated. While losing money is bad, there are a lot of worse things that can happen
You might try writing to Lonely Planet who do travel guides to India.
