Planning on either hiring a car or RV? and after visiting Hawaii and LA travel up to Yosemite and Grand Caynon and then travellin down to Orlando. Partner wants to drive and see as much as possible does anyone recommend anywhere that is worth seeing along the way. We have already been to Vegas but never seen any other sights of USA.

I suggest you forget renting an RV. I have crunched the numbers for several members and you will not save any money. The added rental costs plus the much higher fuel bills will be more than the motel bills. I would get a fuel efficient car and plan on staying in motels. It might make sense to buy a tent if you are going to stay in our National Parks more than 4 nights. Most NPs charge over $100/night, camping is $20. Another option to consider is renting a van big enough to sleep in. Look at a . It might be worth the extra daily fees if you sleep in it at least 10 times. Also check with the rental companies if you are doing a one way rental. The drop off fees can be substantial.
I would hit many of our National Parks as you head East. After Yosemite, then Kings Canyon, Sequoia, Death Valley, Vegas. Then you have to decide if you want to hit the of the Grand Canyon (GC) or South Rim. I would head for , then North Rim. Out and through Page to . , . Salt Lake City, up to . , Black Hills, , , plenty to see in South Dakota. East from there to Florida.
Or hit the . You can still hit Monument Valley, then head east through Colorado. , , Great Head East or drop into Texas perhaps. There are more things to see/do than you have time for. This is just some of your options while heading to Florida. Good luck with your planning.
What an exciting way to spend your honeymoon! I agree with Mike's suggestions about seeing plenty of national parks, the diversity of them in the USA is just awesome. My personal favourites have been Monument Valley, Mesa Verde, Zion, the Grand Tetons and Yellowstone. The opportunities are endless really, and you don't have to be a big hiking buff to enjoy them, the actvities range from hiking, canoeing, off roading, cultural tours, horseback riding - theres plenty of different ways to spend your time Enjoy, whatever path you choose to take!
