Well, you know, there are people living there and they do it even if it is raining.
Some roads may be impossible during a few days in the raining season, but it it is rare.
Going to Bolivia from Peru, go for a few days in Challapampa on Isla del sol (via Copacabana).
head to Galapagos for a few weeks
Take a close look @ what a few weeks will cost-chances are you'll be on a tour for a shorter time.
