Im flying into lima on the 21st of september and feel that i cant miss out on visiting the amazon!
I've checked flights to Pucallpa and Iquitos, and Pucallpa was much cheaper and there seems to be a lot to do in the area as well...so pucallpa it is!!

I'm planning on going to Peru end september/early october. I haven't thought about going to the amazon basin, my plan was to go to Lima, Nasca lines, Arequipa, Coca Canyon, Cusco & Machu Pichu, but that could be an option!
I'll be travelling solo, so I would like to find a travel partner to see and do as much as I can over there, drop me a message if you are interested.

actually it seems that pucallpa wont happen...the flights that i thought were quite well priced are only for peruvian nationals and the bus journey from lima is 20hrs!! apparently its quite common for the buses to be stopped by 'bandits' as well, so not sure i wanna take my chances
Your plan sounds quite similar to mine though...do you have anything booked for Macchu Picchu? i was quite shocked at how expensive it is.
Im guessing if you're not sure of dates yet its because you havent booked flights? are you only going to Peru?
