Hi guys
how did you find the hostel? if you have used a reputable hostel booking website like hostelworld or hostelbookers than I think you should be safe. Not every hostel has a website either.
If you are that concerned, just find another hostel. There are plenty of good ones in Madrid.
I've booked another hostel, just to be on a safe side.
But I will personally inquire this weird situation during my stay
