I'm just wondering does anyone have a any advise on tours to the salt plains...... i have heard that it can be done going from Uyuni to Salar de Uyuni - Tupiza......does anyone have any experience on this?

I did Tupiza to Uyuni with and it was very good: good car, good driver and guide, good food and well taken care for. The trip was 4 days. You might want to check if they have tours the other way around.

We did the tour from San Pedro de Atacama, Chile and did a 3-day tour to Uyuni. We did it with Estrella del Sur which I can fully recommend, another good company is Cordillera.
San Pedro is an awesome place and worth visiting if you decide to do the tour this way round - you can also do it from the other direction.
