Wanting to travel around Thailand in October for a month but trying to find best ways to get around cheap?
Iv been before for a month but it was more of a holiday!
Boat and bus are by far the cheapest
Go to the bus station in each city/town and ride the same bus the Thais use. Fan bus is the cheapest, a/c more expensive, your decision.
Thanks for the advice
If you start from Bangkok you just need to choose a direction. There are three bus terminals in Bangkok. The Northern bus terminal services the North (Chiang Mai, Ayutthaya, Chiang Rai, Udon Thani) The Eastern Bus Terminal or Ekkamai bus terminal services the East (Koh Chang, Pattaya, Koh Mak, Koh Samet, Cambodia). The Southern bus terminal services the South (Phuket, Koh Tao,Koh Phangan, Koh Samui, Krabi)
At the bus station you can buy bus tickets to wherever you want to go. Long bus trips usually cost between 500 and 700 baht (15-21 USD)
If you want typical Thai destinations and culture I would head North, but no beaches there. For beautiful beaches but also many tourist head south. For relaxed Islands and maybe a trip to Angkor in Cambodia you can head East.
Have a good one!
well, it won't be a problem to make it cheap, i'm sure. others already advised you to use public transport which is definitely a good idea. you can travel from one city/province to another by bus or van (both are not expensive), food is cheap (street restaurants, supermarkets with their food courts, markets, etc.), simple accomodation will not cost you much as well. there are many places to see: depends on what you prefer (temples, beaches, waterfalls, caves, islands, markets, etc)
thank you for all your information and tips everyone, It is much appreciated and noted down!! x
