High season, which is December to April, over 100,000 British people go to Thailand each month, as well as many from other countries so lots of others there then.
Literally month by month, the temperature in Thailand goes up from December to April when it is the hottest, not that December is cool.
You get 30 days visa free on arrival which includes day or arrival and day of leaving. Take a budget flight to say Kuala Lumpur or Penang with AirAsia for a day or more and return and you get another 30 days visa free.
Most of the cost of a Thai holiday is getting there. You can have an extra 30 days for not much more money as accommodation and food is cheap there, so be sunning yourself on the beach when they are all freezing back home.
kayak and other companies can give you "reasonable" priced flights. Changing days and non-direct flights can save money.

Bangkok is a big and busy city, down south there are many different beaches from busy to quiet and up north is countryside and mountains where it is welcomingly cooler.

Ah.. Nah i'm looking at february or march really, need to come home for April, then going to leave to work in ayia napa in may. Come in march!
Ill still be around in March but i am going to Cambodia, Vietnam and Laos. No fixed dates so ill let you know.
Went to Ayia Napa in 2008 and was prob one of the best holidays ive had!

hey keeno i do plan heading out to thailand for a month in feb.im same as you not planned where to go ect obv bangkok is a def!!! but would love to see the beaches ect! be good to hear more from ya and ya plans!
