My name's Jess, 23 from London I'm currently in Sydney and am planning to travel up to cairns around the 23rd November for 4 weeks as i have a flight to Bali on 23rd December. I'm thinking of going on the greyhound bus. Is anyone else planning to do a similar thing? I'd love to have a buddy with me as this will be the first bit of travelling I'll be doing by myself arghhhh!

hey Jes, the listings in Gumtree seem to be really popular now, especially in Aus and NZ. I took a quick look through and there is a guy offering a ride all the way to Cairns, but that is for now. But check in and post your own ad closer to your date. It would be a much more fun way to travel than bus and you can stop where you want with the other rideshares of course.

Hey Jess,
If you fancy leaving a week or so earlier we're going to be doing the same trip! My girlfriend's family are flying over for Xmas (landing in cairns) so we're heading up and aiming to meet them around 15th Dec ish (i think thats when they get in)! Might be a little too early for you but we can keep you company for some of the way?!! We arrive into sydney mid october so gona have a few weeks there first. got a few little ideas for stop off's, although no doubt none of them will actually happen!! ha.
