Hi my name is Alex and I am from Australia and am doing a southern asia trip from November this year to February next year. I am flying into Shanghai and spending a month in China and wanted to go on the Yangtze river, through towns such as Wuhu, Changsha and travel down to Hanoi by any means for example, bus, train, even hitch hike. I've been told you can get your vietnam visa in Nanning and then get a bus to hanoi. But i wanted to know if you'd be able to let me know what the cheapest ways of getting around china are? The internet gives me very little info on how cheap food, travel and accomadation is in china, as my plan is to not prebook anything. What are some great places to go in china whilst making your way down to hanoi in 30 days that you can reccommend?
