AMSTERDAM ALONE???!

Heyy guys,

I'm curious, why would you think there would be a problem?

Amsterdam is a completely modern city is a completely modern, developed country. In many ways it's more modern and simpler to navigate than your own home city of Paris.

It has a great backpacking and tourist infrastructure and is full of solo travellers.

Cheers,
Terry

I had a 24hr layover in Amsterdam and enjoyed walking around the city and seeing the red light district at night. Had to dodge a lot of bicyclists but other than that had a great time by myself. I'm a 48 y.o. woman and had no problems. I even visited a "coffee shop" to finally try a brownie and check it off my bucket list. Unfortunately, cautiously eating half of it resulted in no difference in my mental state but hey, when in Rome (and while it's still legal)!

You will have no problem travelling in Amsterdam alone, in general everyone speaks english so communication is easy the tourist information is very good near the main train station, the roads are well marked with sign posts for the majority of tourist attractions.

Thankyou all for your answers!

How many days do you think i should spend there?

Depending on your interests. I just finished a 7-week Euro trip and was lucky enough to be in Amsterdam during the "Festival Season". If possible, I recommend you to travel outside Amsterdam to experience more of the culture. If you have a limited time 4 days IMO is enough time to enjoy the city.
