Hello everybody, my name is john, i'm new here. I have done some traveling in the united states and now i would really like to travel internationally. I have been looking around a bit but i feel like there are better deals out there. Like little known sites or groups that have great deals on trips and such. My question to all of you more experienced travelers is are tere any sites like that out there? How do you guys book your trips? I have mainly been looking at expedia and the like but i feel like theres something better. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks john
Hey john,
Try out, sunwing.ca, or holidayhouse... you can google any of them, also any local travel agency should have all and any booklets of information for such "planned" and organized vacations.
If you really want a good trip to fit YOUR needs where ever YOU want tho, I would just suggest looking at booking your charter flights and getting to destination and then getting all of your travel information like that.
I am from Canada and so what I mean from charter flight is like, AirJazz would be the charter of AirCanada... Basically the same company, but a smaller airline. They are always MUCH cheaper..
Expedia is ok, but it is not the only site. They do a lot of advertising sure, but there are lots and lots of other "companies" and just websites you could check out.. Best bet, google em, and if not try a travel agency.. You dont have to actually buy their books either
We've used Expedia and Travelocity when they have had the best deals we could find. But, we've had better luck with TravelZoo recently. Honestly, some airlines offer some of the better rates than any of the booking sites so keep an eye on them too depending on your destinations. If the planes are not full, last minute deals work if your time is flexible.
I would have recommended Quikbook.com for possible accommodations... Alas, they only work within the US and Canada. Airbnb does work internationally though they mainly cater to condo/apartment rentals. But, if you meet up with a few people you like and want to step away from hostels for a few days, it can be as cheap/person as the shared hostel room. You won't be waiting or 'fighting' over kitchen/bathroom time. It all depends on the type of experiences you want as you can mix it up many ways.
Exactly what kind of deals are you looking for - all inclusive, tours, airfare, cruise??? For airfare I like - I use the calendar option to find the cheapest days to fly. You can't book through this site, but if you go to the airline, or to a third party site, you will likely be able to come close to the fare quoted. I'm a 100% independent kind of traveler, so I can't help you with other kinds of all inclusive or tour travel.
