5 Nights In Hong Kong

danposs86 has indicated that this thread is about Hong Kong

If you have 5 nights, you should spend at least one day in Macau- it's a short ferry ride from HK, but a very different feel to it- you can tell it was a Portuguese colony by the narrow cobblestone streets, fountains and old colonial buildings. Of course, it also has some of the biggest casinos in the world.

Hello.

I am travelling out to Australia at the start of September, but we are having a stop over in Hong Kong for 5 nights on the way.

We have sorted accommodation and have decided to get an Octopus card to help get around.

I want to know what sort of insurance is best to have whilst in Hong Kong and where to get it?

Also for those that have been, what would you say are the must see areas of the city?

Thanks

Hi

me and my b/f are also travelling to hong kong in september on our way to Oz, we are looking to stay for about 10 nights. we havent yet booked any accomodation, but we have been looking at places to visit and have decided that we want to visit the Peak which lets you see over the city and harbour, victoria harbour to see the sympnony of lights over the city which is on every night at 8pm, and the giant buddha which is on Lantau island.
we would also like to know of any other must see's!

also would anyone recommend day trips to Kowloon?

thanks

Theres other must-see places in Hong kong such as

DisneyLand (fireworks everynight)
Ocean Park (best amusement park in hk)
tst Victoria Harbor (light show 8pm every night)
Causeway Bay (best shopping area)
Lan kwai fong (full of nightclubs and bars)
Mongkok Ladies Street and Fa Yuen Street(cheap and bargain place)
Peak (take the tram to the peak and you will a good view of Hong Kong, its really pretty at night )
Stanley market (beach and street market)

There is also a lot of good shopping malls in Hong Kong such as Festival Walk, times squares, Soho etc... if you want to shop for cheaper stuff, i would recommend you to go to SHenzhen which is 25 mins away from Hong Kong by taking the subway. There you can also go to Splendid China Park (amusement park) and China South City (a great place for shopping in a pretty cheap pricee) And Macau would be a good place to go tooo if you could stay in Hong Kong a bit longer, its like an Asia version of las vegas~ have a safe trip to China

Thanks for your info really useful, ill be sure to check some of them out

Not in the City but I suggest a hike through Sai Kung Country Park. The beaches and views are amazing, especially Tai Wan. Beers are available at the hut like restaurants.

Have a meal at Java Road Market Cooked Food Centre, North Point.
