Australian Travel - Where to start??

Firstly, apologies on this being the subject of my first thread.

What type fo visas are available (and if you even need a visa) will depend on a number of factors like:
- how long do you want to be in Australia?
- Do you intend to work in Australia?
- What nationality passport do you hold?
- How old are you?
- are you travelling alone or with family?

A good place to start would be the . This website has loads of general information on visas for Australia and even a hand tool, that will help you find the right visa.

Hi. Thanks for the info.

I'm turning 30 at the weekend and hold a UK passport. I travel intending to work when I arrive and I will be travelling alone.

I have checked out the link you supplied and it was a great help, but with me turning 30 in a few days, does this mean I have to apply before then?......as in these next 3 days??

All the best!

Many thanks for the great advice. Knowing that I have all that time to apply for the Visa has taken a bit of weight off my shoulders.

I haven't planned the trip yet but Sydney was going to be my first port of call then end up in Melbourne (eventually) to see my cousin who has now lived there for 3 years, and cannot say enough great things about the place.

Again, thanks for the great advice and information.
