I want to rent somewhere in Bangkok for just a month. ( Many places set a 3 month minimum limit ).
My only requirement is that I need fast and reliable internet.
This is why I'm looking for some personal recommendations. (As opposed to just reading the classifieds) There's a difference between a Thai place that says it has WiFi, and a place where the WiFi actually works 24/7.
Other than the WiFi (/ethernet) requirement, I'm pretty flexible.
Good for public transport would be good (BTS? / Ferry?). Great if it came with sheets and pillow cases.
Fan or A/C. (But if it came with A/C, it would be nice to have a fan too - I don't like A/C air). Don't need a fridge, TV, etc. - but ok if it has it.
Looking at between 4000B (just a bedroom+en suite) to 16000B (say) for something more.
Any leads? (Later in the year, or next year, I may want to take it for more than 3 months - but just one month this stay.)
How many hours a day will you be using the internet that you must have a connection in your own room? If you only need the internet occasionally there at lots of internet shops available averaging about a baht a minute in Bangkok and maybe half baht a minute in Pattaya.
Is there a reason you must stay in Bangkok? Pattaya, only 2 hours away by cheap bus, is a little cheaper for many things than staying in Bangkok. You can easily find a hotel with air, hot water, private toilet and shower plus cable TV starting around 500 baht. For longer stays you can get a better price.
Finding a place for your price is not the real problem finding free WiFi in that place is more of a problem.
Good luck.
A portal for finding apartment in Bangkok...Most are written in Thai..Have fun.
If you want to rent for a month with 4000 bath/month, they may require 3 mth rental.
However, I think you can negotiate with the owner to pay extra rate like 5000-6000 for one month rent.
Some place provide daily rate like 390 Baht/night.
