Why Aprils Gal would you spend ur night in the trainstation when your so close to one of the nicest hostels in Europe?

Turn left from the station, I think its the second or third right, hostel is hard to see from the road, after you turn right, its about 200 meters on ur left, this is all from memory, check the site for details
Can I also ask, why you dont wanna see Lubjiannana at all? Its a wonderful city, stay a few nights in the previously mentioned prison hostel too. I had an amazing time there. Everytime I stay at the hostel, behind them is a kinda hidden speak easy type bar in some run down old factory. That was 5 years ago tho, so cool if it is.
And Bled is nice to look at but hella boring. seriously. go for a day trip only.

i guess the underlying question was also - is it safe to be landing around that time in ljubljana and to be walking to a hostel. Would appreciate any thoughts !
Youll be fine, there's what..3 or 4 of you? No problems. Its a busy street near the station. I will say once you tunr left, the street lights are sparse. So have a good idea where you are going. I remember dirt roads and abandoned buildings around, but that was 5 years ago. Or take a taxi, its really only a 5 min walk/2 min drive.
Sorry - i missed ur comment on Bled - is it very boring?
The reason we are not staying in Ljubljana is that - the main itinerary is really Italy. But a friend got excited about Bled, and we thought it a good idea to add it from Venice... We were hoping to go stay in Bled and the idea was to may be find a trail to bike or cycle, or even check out bohinj.
but true, i am starting to like the sound of ljublana... we have may be upto 4 days probably on this trip for Slovenia ... what would you suggest.

well im a city guy not a outdoors person, so depends what you are looking for. I remember Bled was full of casinos and crap! Research a bit more or see if any one else weighs in here on TP.
4 days in Slovenia is great just for Ljubljana and a day trip to Bled. Koper is nice too, close to Trieste on the Italian border.

We haven't really researched in detail on Slovenia actually, and yes, the place seemed more of an outdoorsy rather than 'sight see' kind of a place. Will definitely look into it a bit more.
This is a bit off the original topic, but do u think it is a good idea to mix Italy and Slovenia in the first place? Or would u suggest to do as much of Italy as possible. We have roughly 2 and a half weeks for the whole trip...
when are you going? and how much money do you have? do you have a route planned - must see cities?
One rule thats pretty basic, Italy is wicked expensive, Venice is CRAZY expensive!
Slovenia, by no means cheap compared to its Balkan neighbors, will offer you a break from 5 euro beers and 12 euro salads. And Lubj night life is so much fun, especially compared to Italy
