Hi guys,
Hi Huw, do you mean you're flying home from Lima? When are you thinking about going? I'm trying to plan the same thing in reverse for next summer as in going from Ecuador to Peru and then to Bolivia.

Hey,
i think that you have to fly over Lima to get from Cusco to Iquitos. Not flying but definitly you have to go with the bus from Cucso to Lima to Iquitos. I think there is no way around it... ;=(
But maybe with the little busses. But then it will take you years to arrive...
Hi guys,
I will be travelling through Peru towards Ecuador, but at the end of my trip i will be in Lima.
Is there a way to miss Lima out on the way to Ecuador, by going from Cusco through to the Amazon in Iquitos and over the border that way?Any help would be appreciated.
Huw
Sure you can. You can travel to Iquitos by bus to Pucalpa then to Iquitos by boat. From Iquitos you can fly to Tarapoto and from Tarapoto you can travel to Chiclayo bus bus. Then, from Chiclayo to Tumbes by bus and from Tumbes to Huaquillias in Ecuador. There is also a bus from Chiclayo to Guayaquill but it is very expensive.
Good luck.
thanks very much fahnder, sounds pretty hectic but I'm desparate not to retrace my steps too much, so it could be the way to go!
Kieran, yes I'm flying home outta Lima so looking to miss it for that reason.
Cheers all
H
there is a, at times a bit rough but spectacular, road going from Cuzco via Ayacucho, Huancayo, Cerro de Pasco, Huanuco to Huaraz which gives Lima a good miss.
