I am a single, 20 year-old guy and may be moving to England in the near future. I am from a small town in New Brunswick, Canada and am wondering where the best spot to move to would be. I am going to be given a choice of cities (do not have them yet, but guessing will be the major cities) and I have never been anywhere in Europe. I like a good party, but I am also concentrating on a build of my carreer in the Hotel & eventually cruiseline industry. Considering this, where will I find most hotels, with regards to a good enough nightlife scene (but it is not all that I want).. I like to be able to relax when I want, and mostly I need to be where there are people as I go crazy when alone and bored for too long a time. I have been to New York city, and Mexico city; both which I found very interesting all the while saying that they were too populated for my taste. It is cool to see people all the time, but sometimes I like to have my relaxing time. I am also a fan of nice sceneries (preferably water/beach/bay near by with mountains and such) but do not want only suggestions on those types of places, like I said, I like to be where there are people and I do like a good party once in a while! Also I am easy to get along with and am very adaptable with new places and with new people. I love learning about new cultures and actually trying to adapt to them would be a pro opposed to having something similar to Canada & America. My goal is to travel the world and get paid for it... So basically to discover what world it is that we live in, meeting nice/new people, making money, travel around, all that fun stuff. Im also an active person but am pretty sure i can find outdoor activities and gyms etc. almost anywhere?
How did you manage to get a Work Visa?
Cheers,
Terry
There are programs that offer such services and that help you with the above... Nothing is for certain yet, I am mainly looking to get ideas but am sure would love it.. Any suggestions...?
My first suggestion would be Edinburgh, Scotland. It's a smaller city with a huge tourist industry and a very active nightlife (university town!) with easy access to the Highlands for outdoor adventure. The fringe festival and hogmannay are pretty awesome too. It's on the water as well with a healthy sailing community.
Another option heading in the other direction would be somewhere like Brighton, if you prefer (relatively) warmer beaches to mountains. The Lake District is amazing for hiking and scenery, but the towns are all pretty small, so it might not be enough action for you.
Cardiff or Swansea in Wales might be another good option or two for you. You've got the Brecon Beacons and Snowdonia National Parks nearby and some decent beaches as well. Not sure what the nightlife is like in either of those places though.

I've looked into Brighton, seems like a fun place. I am wondering about the cities up north too, something like Newcastle? or Liverpool? What would be the pluses and minuses as opposed to cities in the south like Brighton for example..?
And I am sure I would love Scotland, I plan on visiting, but Im really only looking at somewheres in England to live as that is where my contract is taking me.
