Goa is the prime tourist destination in India, I haven't gone in Goa or in any part of India but I heard about Fort Aguada and Terekhol Fort In Goa were the most famous among it's beautiful tourist places.
The churches of Old Goa are indeed a UNESCO world heritage site. It was a number of years ago that I was there, but I do remember really enjoying visiting, and I was fortunate enough to be there at the once-a-decade showing of St. Francis' body. You pretty much only need one full day of sightseeing to cover all the churches of Old Goa. Panjim is the most logical access point to Old Goa, and it's also pleasant town for a morning stroll if you want to work it into a day trip.
If you have some time to spare, then I would also recommend taking 3-4 days to head to Hampi, another UNESCO site. It's a solid day or overnight train ride from Goa, but it's one of the most amazing World Heritage sites that I've visited.

Forts of Goa will be the first choice for every traveller who travels to Goa and loves historical places. If we talk about historical places than there are only forts, markets and churches one can see. Here are few of the well-known forts, Fort Naroa, Corjuem Fort, Rachol Fort, Fort Chapora, Fort Cabo da Rama, Fort Aguada and Terekhol Fort.
