Well I'm sorted in terms of the boring stuff like flights, sorting a bank account when I get there etc. I think it's more planning when to start working, where I want to travel and when to do it. I just imagine myself landing in Sydney and being a bit like 'now what.....' I'm kind of hoping I'll meet people to house share and travel about with but who knows! Guess I'll find out when I get there eh?

No worries! It's good you've sorted all the boring stuff, I figure it's best to get all that sort of stuff out the way first! To be honest, I think most people will be a bit like 'now what' once they land. It's only natural when you're arriving by yourself in a new place. I definitely will! I've haven't really done much planning for when I'm out there, but I'm thinking that I'm just going to go with the flow and see what happens. I'm sure you'll be fine and you'll meet loads of people out there!
Ahhh I'm so excited to get out there, and as far away from the miserable British weather as possible! I've booked a week at wake up, but after that I have no plans. The hostel seems pretty nice though!
Do you have any ideas on where you want to go yet? x
Ah I'm glad you're staying there because now I have someone to ask about it!! I'm torn between booking Wake Up or Blue Parrot hostel. Wake up does look pretty good for meeting new people with the bar etc downstairs. You'll have to let me know what it's like!! X
From what I've heard wake up is supposed to be one of the best hostels around Sydney, I'll let you know what I think anyway. Are you on facebook? If you want to add me, there's a link on my profile x

I'm also looking to go to Sydney around April/May time and in exactly the same boat. I know I want to work there for a while and maybe go to Melbourne too then Thailand South America and New Zealand. So if anyone has similar plans or may like to meet up over there that would be awesome.
I'm so nervous but so excited too ahhhhhh! :D
Also guys my cousin went travelling and is now living in Sydney, she recommended wake up hostel to me and said its pretty near the city too.

I don't yet my visa is sorted but I'm planning to go the first week in May and possibly stay in Abu Dhabi for a few days just to split up the flight Time ( my sister lives there ) what about you have you got yours booked?
