Aus and NZ Work Advice

Hey guys!
So I'm planning on getting a Working Holiday Visa for both Aus and NZ, next year, for around 6 months each. I was just wondering if people had advice on what sort of jobs to go for in these two countries. I've looked into helping out at hostels to cut the accommodation cost but is it possible to pick up short time work in the cities, like bar work or whatever? Of course there is a lot of people doing the same thing but just how hard is it? I know there's the farm work available too but I'm guessing they will all be out of the cities in the countryside. Just trying to find out the best way to earn my way around these places.
I'm planning on going to Perth, Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Cairns, Darwin, Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch and Queenstown.
Any help is appreciated.

There are quite a few websites that offer advice on working holiday visas in Australia and New Zealand, so you should find a lot of your answers on these sites. Companies including STA travel and Bunac have info on this, and there are loads of other options if you google working holiday visa Australia/New Zealand. Maybe send some of them an email for more information and they might be able to help put your mind at rest.

If you do contact companies in regards to working holiday advice, do not feel any pressure to obtain the actual visa through them. There is just no need to get the working holiday visa from any place other than DIBP (Australian immigration department) or the New Zealand immigration department.

Info on the working holiday visa can be found for Australia on the , and on their immigration website.

You can apply online for both Australia and New Zealand visas via these government websites.

Yeah, deffo go through the official immigration websites. STA were going to charge me £109 for my WHV and ended up paying £79 through the NZ immigration website. Saved myself £30 for a process that was really easy.

I'm gonna be in Auckland from the 28th Aug for a week then to Queenstown for skiiing, then back up to Auckland to work. Should have really flown into Queenstown when I think about it. Oh well

Have you checked the flights on jetstar and grab a seat? At that time of year you can get flights from Auckland to Christchurch and q town for as little as $30
