I'm thinking of road trip from Columbus (OH) to Miami (FL) in Christmas break this year, have about 7-10 days for the tour.
Please suggest route and places i can cover in route or small deviation's.
Are you dead set on those start / end locations? It's about an 18-19 hour drive if you went direct, which doesn't allow for stops, or seeing things? I might suggest shortening the driving distance, and spending more time in / around specific places.
I'd probably look at starting in Nashville, going to Charleston, Savannah and south. But it really depends on what you want to see. Give yourself 2-3 days at least in some places (like Nashville), and don't underestimate the travel time.
When I did my road trip down eastern US from Washington we stopped in Roanoke for a night to catch up with a friend I met in Russia, Charleston for 2 nights, Savannah for 1, had a stop at a tea plantation on the way south, spent a night at a friend of a friend's in the middle of nowhere in northern Florida, and then spent a day in the everglades before finishing in Ft Lauderdale. It was really good, but it would have been nice to have spent more time in Savannah (it's gorgeous!), and we constantly felt like we had to keep moving or we would be behind schedule. If you can shorten the distance you're covering you'll have more time to stop and enjoy where you are instead of simply driving through the country.
