Anyone got suggestions for new guide projects? I was thinking something that encourages a lot of new articles. Perhaps introductions about all the UNESCO World Heritage Sites? I'm sure that would keep Utrecht and Lavafalls busy for a while

That's about 850 introductions....
But actually I think that is a great idea.
Or write semi-country style articles about 'countries' which are not in the official country list. I did the Azores for example, officially a part of Portugal of course, but far away enough to have it's own article.
Maybe Sam can write about Bouvet...I am dying to go there
One somewhat easy one might be to develop the "Keep Connected" sections for each country. That information can also often be re-used in city articles to some extent, with a bit of fleshing out for the specific details of area codes, etc. And then in a country like Australia, you can re-use that city content quite easily for other cities, just changing small things here and there. Basically, it ends up building a LOT with relatively little input.
Btw, really satisfied with the recent projects for Sights and Getting Around! The country articles are quite consistent as a result and most now are well worth the read when visiting a destination.
All good ideas. I like the idea of having something that expands current articles, as well as something that creates a lot of new articles.
For now, maybe I'll just start all three of these. With the semi-countries idea, I'll try to create a list based on Wikipedia's (especially the ones under the "entities excluded" heading).
If anyone comes up with any other ideas, it'd be great to keep this post going for future suggestions. I don't have a problem with multiple projects going at once.

Maybe regarding the UNESCO sites, it would be an idea to start with let's say around 100-150 of the more famous sites at first, otherwise the list is very long.
If you like I could send my ideas of which deserve an introduction to start with.

Interesting idea. I like the idea of focusing on a particular region of the world, especially regions that maybe don't have much written about them. Former USSR states are definitely a good choice for that.

Probably a wise idea to break this one down into bite-sized chunks. Not sure how to rank the sites according to how famous they are, but I'm sure we could figure out something.
I'll get working on writing these projects up this week. Plenty of ideas to go on with now!

For the UNSECO sites, I think subdividing them based on whether they are natural or cultural sites. Some folk's interests lie more in one area than the other (nature for me), so I'd be interested in seeing separate lists.
OK, that seems like a pretty good way to break the list down somewhat. I've started the project, listing just natural and mixed (natural&cultural) sites.
By the way, one thing to keep an eye out for in this project is making sure that the article titles make sense. In quite a few cases, it might be worth ditching the UNESCO name given to the site, in preference of something that 'real' people use. For example, UNESCO calls it the Greater Blue Mountains Area. I've just called the article Blue Mountains.
