If you haven't already, have a look at the and . It looks like both will indeed require you to get a visa and yes, Cambodia's can be obtained upon arrival, although it might be better to get the eVisa in advance.

I would just stand in line and buy your Cambodian visa at Phnom Penh International. Have your visa photos, a $20 bill and fill out the form. You don't need an e-visa and you don't need to pay extra for speed. PP is also the best place to obtain your VN visa. I use Lucky, Lucky Motorcycle Rentals, but all GHs will get a VN visa for you. Of course you pay for the service, but it is not worth your time/effort to get it yourself. The visa fee is $25 for 30 days, but you will pay around $30 to the GHs. Going to the VN embassy twice and dealing with their officials is not worth $5 IMO.

A passport and visa are required when traveling in Cambodia. Tourists and business travelers may purchase a Cambodian visa valid for one month at the airports in Phnom Penh and Siem Reap. Both require a passport-sized photograph. You can obtain visa at many points:

About visa in Vietnam:
Visas are exempted for the citizens of the countries, which have signed a bilateral or unilateral visa exemption agreement with Vietnam; tourist visa may be valid for 15 to 30 days.
Visa is issued at the Vietnamese diplomatic offices or consulates in foreign countries. Visa is possibly issued at the border gates to those who have written invitations by a Vietnamese competent agencies or tourists in the tours organized by Vietnamese international travel companies.
Application files for visa: the entrance application (printed form); two 4x6 cm photos; passport and fee for the visa issuance.
You are a New Zelander so a visa is required. It's easiser to get a visa from travel agents. They will need such information:Full name, Birthday and place of birth, Nationality, Job, Number of your passport, Entry and exit dates, Country you plan to receive your entry visa from the Vietnamese embassies or consulates
Also, you can apply for an evisa, too.

A week before my flight to Vietnam (from Malaysia) I found out that yes, you do really need Vietnam visa in advance. I was in serious doubts about the e-visa (I think I even applied at that exact same website) and in the end I decided to follow everyone's advice and just get the visa from the embassy. E-visa are not always trustworthy.
As for Cambodia I had no problems obtaining the visa upon arrival. I entered the country by boat and we had to wait while the guys went to get our visa.

Hien, Apparently he did not bother to read my advice as well. Hopefully 'bushbaby' will read my post before asking how & where to obtain a VN visa while in PP.

i've used the e-visa service to apply for a visa for my senior manager who is an american (my company is in singapore). i did that all via phone and email, and they were very helpful.
there was no problem whatsoever with regards to the e-visa, u just have to give the immigrations officers in vietnam a copy of the approval letter of the e-visa.
i trust it now, although at first i was a li'l doubtful. u can call them and talk to them. the guy manning the phones for that e-visa site (I think his name was kevin or kelvin) is really nice and helpful.
