Alexandre has indicated that this thread is about Peru
So far this year i have spent 6 weeks in Mexico and 3 and a half weeks in Peru and i have to say i was disappointed with Peru.
Likewise for Machu Picchu it didnt seem as impressive as the photos.I did the Inca Trail and saw so many amazing sites before Machu Picchu that when i got there it didnt seem that impressive.Ive had about 10 people agree with me in Peru since.
Mind you as you only have 10 days thats not long to see either country really.
Im now in Bolivia and i would go there instead. This place is amazing.
You can get the train to Machu Picchu and go on a day or 2 day trip if you wanted to.
Hello,
Well, i think you should also visit Peru, There are lot to see here and Machu Pichu it is amazing if you get to understand a little the Peru's Culture you'll understand why this place is.. that is why thousand of people visit everyday here but Peru it is not just Machu Pichu, cause most of the people who come here visit mostly the south part but there are a lot of good stuffs at the north too if you like the nature you also go for the amazon ... it could be 3 days which is the shorter time Puerto Maldonado or Iquitos are good places..compare to Mexico i even could say we are kind of similar culture but not the same... So all depends what you want to experience..If you would like to know more about my country dont hesitate in writing.
have a nice day!
J.
Good day,
Peru and Mexico have similar backgrounds, important local cultures that were later conquered by the Spaniards. The culture in both countries are a mix of the Spanish and the Aztec or Inca culture.
Mexico has impressive sites and lovely beaches, Peru has also important archeological sites as Machu Picchu and the Amazon jungle.
Ten days is enough to tour Cusco, Machu Picchu and the Amazon jungle in Peru. Of course, it is not enough if you plan to hike the 4 days Inca trail. The best way to tour Machu Picchu by train is to stay one night in Aguas Calientes town, that way you can tour the site next day morning at 6 am, when there are few people around. That way you beat the crowd and you can experience Machu Picchu as it should be, as a peaceful and energetic site.
Have a safe trip wherever you go,
Ivan
October is the rainy season in all but far Northern Mexico above the Tropic of Cancer. A lot to see and do in both Mexico and Peru. Of course it your journey and you'll have to research and decide..for a lot of details I would recommend the 'Footprint' (published in UK)print guidebooks and contact some of teh Travel Agents in London who specialize in Latin Travel. Both countries boast excellent first and second class bus systems. If you go to Mexico head towards the South and East, and one may travel easily into Central America via Belize from Cozumel and Merida or into Guatemala via Oaxaca. Remember Mexico City has over 20,000,000 people and Lima some 9,000,000 so do your travel research in advance, these big cities are not usually kind to lone budget travelers, but there is a lot to see and do if you are able to make contacts there in advance. Message for more info.
PERU OR MEXICO???
M E X I C O !!!!
If you are looking for a nature trip then definately Peru. You can hike the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu, or take the train to save on time, plus there is the rain forest. Orchids grow wild in Peru. That seals the deal for me personally.
PeRu is the best place ever I've gone to Mexico before and it's shit. No offense to whoever is Mexican. But u gotta know or where to go. People that don't know Peru say it's shit cause theyre not even from there so oviously they don't know Peru and usually stay at the ghetto. Go to Peru it's the best. Go to miraflores, huancayo, Arequipa, Trujillo, piura, punta sal(best beach in the world) barrancos, San Borja, San isidro, Cuzco, cajamatca. There's tons of places in Peru that ate soo damn nice. There's not just places like nachipichuu. And for good nature stuff go to to tinned they have ruins there too. There's alot of ruins in Peru other than machupichuu. And the nazca lines
Actually in October over there is summer and nice and hot. Go to larcomar it's a nice beach. Peru has the best foods in the world and torta helada is wayyyy better than tres leches. Peru is the shit and you should go. Every friend I know who has gone to Peru loved it and visit source also. U shoukd go
I think you can spend about two weeks in Mexico to visit all the tourist places, ten days wouldn't be sufficient. But for Peru, 10 days are more than enough..! If you can somehow manage to take off from your work or take time off basically, visit Mexico first and then go on a short trip go to Peru for about five days or so..American airways letter explains how fantastic Mexico and Peru are..! I found out from my friend that Machu Picchu is amazing, she had been there before.. I think you are really interested in visiting the place. Go see it then!!
