Anyone traveled here? Would love to hear your impressions, both good and bad.

oops -- sorry -- just say basically the same thing a few posts down. it's late...

I had a friend of mine go backpacking a couple of months ago. She had the best time. She said that the people were very friendly and eager to help. She also got to experience a monk cultural ceremony and was invited by the village to stay over! You should definitely give it a try. Good luck!

I travelled to Myanmar in last July. It is beautiful country and friendly people. You can take 10- 15 days, depend on your time. Do not miss Bagan

They are all correct. Opening its doors to the world and a desire for people to come and visit and take part in all that it has to offer. With all sanctions lifted by 2013 and the reopening of the American Embassy, Myanmar is a location any discovering traveller must put on their bucket list. From the commercial capital, Yangon and its incredible Shwedagon Pagoda and British-era architecture blended with a plethora of new developments to the tranquillity of Inle Lake and the history of Mandalay and Bagan.
