Do I need a new passport?

Hi there

You might want to contact your local passport office and see what they tell you. If any of the countries stamp visas in rather than putting a sticker on the page taking up the entire blank page, then some countries stamp visas in on pages with other countries stamps on. On one page of my passport I have got a Malaysian and Thailand visa stamped in and out on the same page. I have also got a page which has a Chile visa, Belize visa and then a Mexico visa all on the one page all stamped in and out of the country. I was starting to worry abut running out of pages as well until they started to do that.

You can get extra pages added to your passport...it should be free except for shipping. Just check the website for passports depending on your country

Not sure how many countries offer that, many don't.

You need to contact the embassies/consulates that your entering on your rtw trip. They will tell you (as already mentioned) about the stapled in extra pages. Many people have them and it rarely causes any hassle, as long as the visa/entry permit is stapled in to the passport. After all, the country you're entering will know whether it's good or not.
Shouldn't be much of a problem, if at all.

It's not possible with British passports, annoyingly. I have just had to get a new one as mine was full, and I ordered a bumper 48- page one this time!

I have had extra pages stapled into my UK passport (same one) and stamped with visas (due to my passport being full) in Morocco and Malawi on two seperate trips abroad.
Neither of them were questioned on return to the UK, nor when departing from LHR or MAN.

It depends- although most African countries will slap in a whole-page visa, they often stamp the same page (leaving the page opposite free) Some countries also do a stamp, not a paper visa nowadays. At the Ugandan bordern they asked me if I wanted a stamp or a sticker. Which African countries are you visiting?

Also, unless you are visiting Suriname and the Guyanas, South American countries are stamp-only, no stickers, so providing you have a bit of space between your current stamps, they should fit, unless you zig-zag the borders every week and to my experience most border agents are pretty good if you ask them to stamp a particular page to leave space for visas.

Bob - do you mean that the extra pages were stapled in as you got to the borders?
