I am in Bangkok and have just booked myself onto a minibus which leaves tomorrow morning to Siem Rep, Cambodia. When I get to the border I will have to buy a Visa. Firstly, does anyone know if they only accept dollars? Can they accept Thai Bhat? In fact, is it best just to use dollars in Cambodia?

There are loads of scams that I have heard of as well, regarding these border crossings, so if anyone has any tips or have done the trip and can let me know what to expect that would be great.

Oh dear - I haven't entered Cambodia that way, but have heard enough from others who have. You may not even arrive at the border. Buses don't run on time and the bus waits until there are enough people to fill it. The bus breaks down. There's a lunch stop and other "stops". This is what I've heard. You know the old saying about something if it's too cheap - if it's too good to be true, it probably is.
Only US dollars are excepted in Cambodia. Make sure you have plenty of small bills - $1, $5 and $10. Also make sure the notes are new and clean - many shopkeepers and retailers won't accept notes if they're old, dirty or torn. You hand over nice, clean, crisp dollars and they'll give you old, dirty torn local currency in change. 4,000 riel equals US$1.
is an excellent site which I'd advise people to read. Read here about the from Bangkok to Siem Reap.
Incidently I stayed at Gordon's place in Siem Reap on the recommendation of friends and I'd recommend it to others going there.
Good luck, hope things work out alright for you.
Edited to add:
BTW, a Cambodian visa is US$20, you will need your passsport, the $20 plus a 3 x 4 cm photo.

They also receive thai money, but at horrible exchange rate. US is probablly cheaper.
go with a group, and negotiate together. They charged as for $1 for every stop (health card, app, visa sticker, and stamp). So an extra $5 should be enough.
