I haven't ever used them, but I've heard of them and seen them mentioned more than once here on Travellerspoint. They've been around for years, which is usually a sign they are reliable.
I'm not sure if you would be able to get the visa, but Melbourne based also has a program there.

I have taken a look at the IEP once before, and as I haven't been in a course after I finished my traineeship 2 years ago I would not be eligable for the program
I just really need to find an alternative, or some kind of recruitment agency that can help me find a job so I can get the H-2B visa I guess. If only my partner could move here (she plans to in 2011) but she still has a year of her studies left and due to family commitments she can't make the move any sooner.
Thanks for the info on VisaFirst, hopefully someone out there who has experienced them can give me an insight to how good they are.
I think the main problem is that it is just really difficult to get any kind of temporary working visa for the US I'm sure the other visas that are more long term also come with a much higher price tag...
On the plus side, 2011 isn't that far away Perhaps you could just visit her on a tourist visa for a few months in the meantime?
