Hi All,
Yes Crete was one of the highlites of my trip. I took a ferry from Santorni into Crete and stayed in a resort town called Plakias. Even during the offseason this place was stunning.
Crete is amazing but you will need a car.. it is such a big island.
I would also propose Paros as an option
The budget can vary a lot, it depends on where u stay, where u eat and what u do. It also depends on the period u are going. July and August are the most expensive months. Look for cheap accommodation and book it in advance, don't just wait to find cheap places when u are here.
Amorgos is a must see as well.
Have fun!
I can recommend amorgos. It's close to Ios and Naxos, but feels more undiscovered than its neighbours. Not that it doesnt have tourism, it just doesn't have the same mass-tourism feel. Small crowds, and a lot of the visitors are greeks from the mainland. I haven't been there for years, so things can have changed. Anyway, i've probably visited the majority of the cycladic islands, and amorgos is my absolute favourite.
