They get pretty sparse in New Brunswick but it shouldn't be an issue there, let alone anywhere else.
A friend and i will be going from minnisota to nova scotia around the northern side of the great lakes. can you help with the frequency of fuel stations on the way, especially on highway 17. I can go about 160 km on a tank.
Plenty gas stations.
Do it in July/Aug. Otherwise, it might be a bit cold.
I'd stop for gas every 100 miles and i'd try to include driving to the eastern tip of Quebec's Gaspe region in the trip
Nice thing about the open roads in Canada, is one fuel services will tell you where the next one is, usually.
I would agree with above, do around 80-100 miles between fill-ups. I have driven right across Canada in a car and took note of the filling stations en-route, as my journey back was mostly along the same road (mainly Highway#1). They were quite close considering it was possible to travel for ages without seeing any other vehicles for over an hour sometimes (just a dream here in the UK). However, I did get up towards Swan River (quite remote) and along #17 to Thunder Bay and the services were plentiful enough that the fuel light was never even close to coming on.
