Bangkok to KL by train

Hey i wondering if any of you have taken the train from Bangkok to KL? Is this even possible? I was told by it was, but my research has awarded me nothing. Can any of you help?

Here is a good for train travel in Thailand. Scroll down to 'train times & fares'. BKK-Penang-KL-Singapore is listed first.

I'm not 100% sure that is possible to take one train directly from Bangkok to KL. If there is, you'll still have to go through a lengthy border crossing check, and that is one hell of a long train journey. However, if you're looking to avoid hassle and save some time, I'd highly recommend just flying. AirAsia is a good discount airline, you can get one way flights BKK to KL for around $70 (which, depending on what class you'd like to take on the train, may only be $10 more than your train ticket.) I do like the train though- looking out the window at all the passing villages is a great way to see the country

If you do want to get a train ticket though, don't worry about it in advance- once you get into Bangkok, there will be about 25 million travel agencies everywhere that will help you get anywhere you need to go. So don't stress the research too much- it's surprisingly easy to sort it all out once you get there

Good luck!
