from Beijing to Bangkok

hi,

Jorgen,
With 8 weeks, you can do a nice loop to BKK. I would fly/train to HaNoi. If you choose the train, you need to buy your VN visa while in China. Hit SaPa before HAN. If you fly into HAN, you can use the visa on arrival system. My covers that. HaLong Bay will be on every list of 'must sees'. Perhaps Perfume Pagoda, a tour of the handi-craft villages as well. Many in and around HAN.

You have a choice of or on your way to HCMC. Bus is cheaper, more convenient. Train is safer, more comfortable. I use the bus, but others prefer the train. Your decision. 3 weeks to HCMC. Hue, Danang, Hoi An, Nha Trang, Mui Ne, DaLat are on the way south. City tour, tunnels, delta tour in HCMC. Then either or over to Phnom Penh. Figure 1 week in Cambodia. up to Siem Reap. 3 day Angkor Wat pass. Now you have a choice. Hit Laos from Cam. or exit at , into Laos from . This leaves you 2-3 weeks in until you arrive in BKK.

Good luck with your planning.

Hi, thank you for some nice tips. I might have forgot to mention that I did a thailand/vietnam/cambodia trip last year. Ha long bay was awesome I only had 3 weeks last year, so its still many things i havente seen in there i guess.

Im thinking maybe traveling along the cost from beijing down to vietnam, and maybe get myself somehow down to bali. Do you think bali is worth it, or is it as they say down there _same same but differentt_?
