Hello Baz,
A lot of places ask for a minimum stay around the party so watch out for that. I have been looking at Ban Khai, not too far from where the full moon party is held. I looked at one called blue lotus resort which looked pretty nice, this had a 4 night minimum and was 400 THB per night, not bad at all!
If you find anywhere that you think is good or you have been warned not to go to let me know.

I'll be there for sure. My American friend who currently teaches English in Korea is coming over too with a bunch of his mates. We plan on getting an apartment on the island. My friend has been on Koh Phagan before and he says the apartments cost like 6 USD per day. If you split that among 4-5 (or more) people then that's literally less than a dollar per day. It would be amazing if we could all meet up for drinks or something. Best of luck with your plans.

Hey all party folks!
I'm going too! :D I'm staying in a dorm hostel called Dancing Elephant, stayed there last summer and it kicked ass, was great for solo travellers such as myself. You do need reservations in advance though! So worth the money.
See you guys there probably! We might end up sharing buckets on the beach!

my buddies are heading over to koh phagan on july 25 and they are getting an apartment on/close to the island. I'll be heading up to Bangkok from Nong Khai around the same time to meet up with them. I'll give you info as we get close to the date. All the best.

Hey, I'll be there. Arrive in Bangkok on the 25th then travelling down that day! Are all you guys booking before you go? I assume it would be much too busy to arrive and hope for the best? Theres going to be about 10 of us so were even looking into hiring a villa!!
i was thinking about going as i'll be landing in bangkok on the 22nd but i'm not sure how much fun it'll be being a single woman traveler going there on my own

You shouldn't worry, I was there last January and I met a lot women traveling alone. I promise you wont go half a day on that island without making at least one life long friend. Everyone is super nice and all out to have a good time. You should go you will have a blast.
