Basically, I've got nothing to lose. I'm finishing up high school, have no idea what I want as a career, have no idea if I want to go to uni. I'm not sure if I even want to stay in school. Cliche, yes, but I think that traveling alone might give me some (non-pressured) time to think about everything.
There are beautiful areas in romania, depending on what you want to visit, I recommend two - three towns and several castles accompanied by a gorgeous landscape ...
A thousand euros would have to reach you, but I think you will spend much less, depends on how long you can stay ...

Cheapest place for accommodation in Eastern Europe has to be Bulgaria, but bear in mind, the beach resorts all close after mid-September until the following April.
You'll find cheap digs also in Ukraine and Moldova. After that, the prices start going up a bit quicker.
There are more castles in Romania than Bulgaria and buses will take you to just about all of them.
Eating? Best buy your food late in the afternoon from the markets, when the traders are starting to pack up their stalls. That way, you'll get good discounts on already cheap fayre.
It's quite easy to get by in the cheapest countries on around €40 a day or less - including food and a bed. However, travel costs can take this figure up somewhat, if you start taking coaches, trains, budget flights etc. The best budget travel in Eastern Europe are the local buses from one town to another. For instance, from Dobrich to Sofia on the a direct coach, will cost around €20 one way. However, taking a bus from one big town to the next, can save €5 or €6 for the same trip. 'Not a lot', I hear you say, but it's the cost of a days food from the market.
There's budgeting and strict budgeting. It all depends how serious you want to take it.
I was in Albena, Bulgaria earlier this year and my itinery was.. A room in a very much 0* hotel - including breakfast, food and drink in the shop that I ate and drank in my room, a days free swimming and music on the beach in the evening, all came to 35Levs, which converts to about €17.
So it can be done very cheaply, but you must be strict with yourself and not let the budget slip into overdrive when you pass a tempting offer in a shop.
It would be a pretty lousy holiday if you didn't break into the funds a little, but I always find it's best to do it - towards the end of the break, rather than the start.
