New Years in Lanzorate

Alright everyone,
Just booked a short break in Lanzorate for 5 nights over New Years, has anyone been there before for New Years? Just wondering if it's busy or if there're big celebrations, etc?
Cheers,
Ian

Hi,

Porto Del Carmen is the place to be at new year... they have a huge firework display at the harbour/ old town end and its happening on the street along the beach before and after too. Enjoy

Hi Buffalo,

New Year in Lanzarote is fun, easy-going and tradition-related. On New Year’s Eve, an occasion even more celebrated than Christmas. And on the 28th of December, is the day of the Santos Inocentes. This is the Spanish equivalent of April Fools’ Day, when tricks are played.

I never heard of Lanzorate and Porto del Carmen

Porta del Carmen is a good place for NY. Very touristy - in fact the most touristy region of Lanzarote.
There'll be plenty of beach parties and club bash's going on - and the atmosphere will be really good.
Try parts of the old quarter to get cheaper deals too. There are plenty of natives living on the island (the Spanish dialect is very different to in Madrid ! !) and they like to eat 'Locally'. There are some great restaurants and bars not far from PdC that'll have excellent tasty food and cheaper beer than around the resort itself. The hospitality is wonderful out there.
