I' m looking for companions for the expedition, which had long been planned, and which will be held at the beginning of September 2012. Now, my current life ends and I want to conquer the world. I want to start the trip from South America, also I do plan to go to Asia. I do not have any limits as to time or place. I'm ready to remain in a one country for a longer period, or to be rapidly moving through continents. It seems to me that you would be best travelling on your own so other people don't tie you down. When you plan on arriving in a country or region you can post here or other travel forums and arrange to meet any people there. You will meet travellers along the way anyway, as well as locals.
Do check on weather as you don't want to arrive in the rainy season. Do be very careful wih money too. Central and South America does have a lot of pick pockets and people who will steal just anything (a little old lady in Mexico stole cardigan of mine). Then again, where there are tourists or crowds nowadays, there are pick pockets.
If I were you, I would invest in some Lonely Planet guides. They will often quickly pay for themselves.

I am interested, i never travelled anywhere other than Southern india (am an indian), and currently live in US for the last 6 years. but am up for the adventure.. and always have this dream of backpacking for an year.. and am saving for the same.. and 2012 fits perfectly for me.. unless am dead or too sick to walk.. i am in.. please count me in..

I'm interested too, and would be happy starting in South America as i have only travelled in Central America so far. I can't promise anything definite at the moment, but the time that your going sounds pretty good for me, and i'd be in for staying in some places longer than others and travelling simply. Would probably go my own way for points and then travel with you for others. Still up in the air for me at the moment, but am definitely interested... keep me posted.

By the way, i'd be interested in going to places and exploring and staying with people there instead of just going to see the sights... but i can always stay longer at places and meet you up... if you don't want to do the same stuff that i do... Anyways, details, details...
