Visa Waiver & Re-Entry

Etcetera_ has indicated that this thread is about Denmark

As a US citizen you do NOT need a visa as I suppose you already found out BUT you cannot stay more than 90 days in any 6 months period. So if you arrive in Denmark on January 1st and stay for 90 days then you can't reenter until July 1st. You can split up the 90 days into as many stays as you want, as long as you stick to the 90 days within 180 days.

We're having the same problem, my husband is American so we're seeing the same problems as you. He's visiting 4-6 weeks at a time then going back to the US taking care of whatever he has to do there and then coming back again. That way we don't have too long time apart.

You might find some useful information about visas here - just remember that US citizens do not need visas to enter DK: http://www.nyidanmark.dk/en-us/coming_to_dk/visa/visa.htm. I think that the reason why you weren't "found out" when reentering Denmark was an oversight. The UK is NOT a Schengen member, so you could go to the UK for a while and then go back to DK if that could be of any help. Let me know if you need more help. Good luck.
