i think you dont need to go back to UK, it s enough you exit Croatia, either to Slovenia or to BIH and come back for another 3 months. This was the approach we used for many of our friends and it should work.

I agree with the Bobegos advice. I think you should go for a short one-day trip to Slovenia, Hungary, or Bosnia, and return the same day. That should be enough!
