Visiting NZ in November for 4 weeks flying into Auckland and out of Christchurch. How much time would you recommend spend touring each Island?
If you love gorgeous scenery and hiking, I'd say 9-11 days for the North Island, 17-19 days for the South Island.

How old are you? Take the average human life span, deduct your age from that, and that's about half the amount of time you need in each.
