Hi everyone, so i was wondering what the easiest way is to get from laos to cambodia? i know there are aalot of options out there just wanted to hear some of your reviews on each option, Fly, Drive, Boat....
I would recommend the slow boat from Chiang Mai to Luang Prabang - I really enjoyed it and thought it was a great experience. It's pretty scenery along the way and locals get on the boat to sell food, drinks etc. Take something soft to sit on if you can as the seats are very hard! There is a stop overnight in a little town called Pak Beng, right in the middle of the jungle; there are some fairly decent guesthouses in the town.
thats really good to hear, i dont mind a hard seat as long as its worth it! thanks for that. Did you book your boat trip in advance or is it quite easy to do there and then?
We booked our trip in Pai a couple of days before. The package included transport to the border at Chiang Khong, accommodation overnight there and packed lunch on the boat. I think it's a good idea to book in advance as our boat was full.
