Hello Everybody,
I am doing pretty much the exact same thing but for only 3 months. I was thinking of arriving in Bangkok and staying there for a week before moving on to Cambodia and all the way up Vietnam to Hanoi and Hai Long city. I'm not sure what to do then as I want to go back to Thailand and work my way down to Phuket and all the islands ect. From there I will make my way down to Singapore to fly home.
I'm not sure whether to go through Laos, or to fly from Hanoi to Bangkok or Chiang Mai.
I don't really think there is a "best" way, just what you want to do.
I'm hoping to make my mind up when i'm there depending on who i meet ect.
Starting in Hanoi could be an option, then working your way down Vietnam then north through cambodia and then Laos then do the North of thailand and work your way to bangkok and then head south throuh thailand, malaysia and singapore. Thats my plan anyways as i will be able to just bus/train it around everywhere, but everyone for their own.
Go slow and be flexible...
and see more of Cambodia than just Siem Reap, Phnom Penh and Sihanoukville...
