Vietnam VISA

deanoson has indicated that this thread is about Vietnam

I always use the VOA Approval Letter since I fly into Vietnam - just buy online from one of many many private agencies in Vietnam. This one is good (I know this one personally):

www.visa4vietnam.com ($15. for the letter + $25. on arrival)

(fly from BKK-HAN or SGN with Air Asia)

A Vietnam visa is required for all nationalities excepting Singaporean, Japanese, Korean, Norwegian, Finnish and Swedish passport holders who do not require a visa for a stay of 15 days or less. If staying in Vietnam for more than 15 days, you will be required to obtain a tourist visa extension in advance.
Please obtain a visa before arriving Vietnam. You should allow 3 weeks for processing. The cost is US$60 to $100. Remember to keep the customs and immigration form you receive on arrival, as you need it to complete exit formalities on departure.

If you are required to put a contact address in Vietnam on your visa form - please use the address of your starting or finishing point hotel in Vietnam.

Another way to obtain a visa to Vietnam is “Visa on Arrival”. The procedure will be as follows:
- Send a scanned copy of the photo and information pages in your passport to a Vietnam Travel Agent by email
- It will organize a “Visa Approval Letter” for you (2 - 5 working days)
- It sends you, via email, your Visa Approval Letter
- You print that letter and bring it with you
- At the Immigration Office at any of the International airports (they are Hanoi, Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh City) you will need to fill in some forms and pay a “Visa Stamp fee”. Remember to bring US Dollars in cash and 2 passport photos per person.

By doing it this method, you won’t need to worry about sending your passport to the Vietnamese Embassy in your country and get nervous worrying about it for couple of weeks. It’s cheaper too.

Post # 3 gave you good info. Use the VOA system if flying into VN. Cheaper, faster than using VN Embassies. If you are going to Cambodia first, you can get a VN visa fast and cheap in either Phnom Penh or Sihanoukville. 1-2 days, about $35 using your guesthouse or another business. Then bus from PP to HCMC. Good luck.

F'real on what vegas said. I always get by VN visa in Phnom Penh. $40. 1 day turnaround. Lucky!Lucky! on Monivong.
