1. I would like to suggest an enhancement to the upload photos screen (upload from own hard drive).
This screen is missing the date fields that allow you to enter the date the photo was taken. All the other fields are present (tags, location etc), but not the date field. To finish off the information for the particular photo, you have to go into the Manage Photo section just to add the dates in. IMHO, it would be preferable to do everything at once at the time of uploading the photo to the server rather than in two separate places.
Hey Glynn, you must be using the single file uploader. Any reason you're not using the bulk one? Not that it has dates, but it does take you to the edit form right after uploading.
I'm pretty sure the reason we left the date out on the single file uploader is because we attempt to get that information from the photo itself (usually this is available with digital photos). If we made it a field on the upload form, people might not be sure of the date and enter the wrong one. I'll check on that though. I don't really think there's any harm in having it on that form.
On the second point, I think it used to have it so that the photo's title showed as a tooltip. I'll have a look into that now. Would be nice to include more information too though. Agreed there. Something for the to-do list.

Hmm, ok I'll have to leave the photo thing for another day. Looks like it could be messy to change that. What you *can* do now is include a "caption" with your photos, which adds the photo's title directly under your photo.
When you are inserting a photo, there is a little icon to the right of the "thumbnail" and "regular" text. It's meant to be a photo with a speech bubble over it. If you click on that, it will insert the image with the title added as a caption.

1. Hmm, I guess you are using the single file uploader? The multiple file uploader doesn't let you fill in anything in advance, but is MUCH faster! By the way, in case it wasn't clear, you are able to edit multiple photos in one go by ticking the checkboxes for a bunch, and then clicking the Edit button. I find that goes pretty quick when trying to assign the same tag/location/date to a bunch of photos.
What REALLY should be happening though is that the system allocates the correct date to your photo automatically. I am pretty sure this used to be the case, but just testing it now am not seeing that.
2. You can include the title of the photo in your blog entries by clicking on the little caption image next to the text links in the photo insert pop up. So not on the links themselves, but on next to them.

Thanks for the information.
I am including manual captions at the moment so it is not a biggy really.
I will try the multiple edit function as I do a bunch of photos for each day, so they all have the same date and location.
One final thing, I am using Opera 11 as my browser. What plug in do I need so that the bulk upload of photos will work correctly?
