im going to oz for year probs on 1st sept. i have a someone to travel with however will be going all over. we are going to sydney to start with and then up to brisbane i think.
if your out there at the same time would be cool to catch up.
when we first get to sydney im staying with my uncle for a couple of days and then will be in hostels from then on.

hey guys, im going the end of sept/october, my mate has an uncle out there that has a farm near queensland, im going with him but hes only staying for a month, i intend on staying and working out there for at least 6 months, i have a few friends that live out there dotted around oz!
Im 29, male, from southampton.
be careful with sta travel, as they are a travel operator! (middle man!) its may be easier to sought out stuff with them but not the cheapest, i went to new zealand for 3 months last year and found it was much cheaper to sought your own trip out, flights, hostels etc as long as you have 3 nights soughted when you get out there to get over jet lag!
I dont think its a problem meeting new people in oz from what ive read on various forums, but this is the way forward!

im doing the same as you- going to sydney first though to stay with my uncle for a few days and then travelling round all over oz.
im also not using sta travel- ive found flight one way for £566 wich is good, also air asia has flights for £490 one way in begging sept wich is good but airline isnt fantastic.

In terms of being careful with STA (haven't been to see them yet) is there anyway you can recommend airlines or websites for flights? Wanting to go for a year and was thinking of booking an open return but again need to do my research. Want to stop off in Asia & NZ but also no idea what to do first - agh!
No defo no probs meeting new peeps, i know a few out there but i'm going on my own and still very nervous about it but i'm gona do it. From chatting to someone I know there today he even said take your own journey and wing it on your own as you'll always meet people in the same boat.
