Yang Shuo is a small place near Li Jiang River. The closest city that has airport is Gui Lin. You could fly from anywhere to Gui Lin and then take a boat ride to Yang Shuo or bus.

I recommend this route (! - very nice, !! - amazing):
Our itiniery was:
Shenzen (Guangdong)
Guangzhou (Guangdong)
Yangshou (Guanxi) !
Backbone Dragon Rice Terasses (Guanxi) !!
from here 2 routes:
1) here you have to fly/take train back, but this is easier, you will have more time to see things. Also, on the "main tourist trail".
Kumning (Yunnan)
Dali !
Lijiang !!
Tiger Leaping Gorge !!
2) circle - this requires a lot of travel, maybe it your schedule would be a little tight, and you have to improvise a lot of times, as bus connections / roads are not the best, you will have to stay in small villages or towns where they never see foreigners. But certainly adventurous. You won't meet many travellers on this route until the Yellow mountain.

one more important advice:
- buy a lonely planet book (it has the city/village names in chinese, but don't rely 100% on bus/train schedules, they are not accurate, there are more options)
- buy a map at a local bookstore (english/chinese), so if you get stuck somewhere, you can figure out easier which road you should take, or nearest town where you could sleep, in case you don't make it to your destination on that day.
