Vietnam Visa

I am planning on going into the embassy tomorrow in London, (only live half an hour away by train), just wondered how easy the process is? And will they need to keep my passport over the 5 working days in which it takes to process the visa? Or, has anyone ever obtained the visa whilst they were travelling, if so where? and how easy was it? The website says they recommend posting an application but I really don't fancy posting my passport too!

I paid $45 for a VN visa via mail to the SF Consulate. Add overnight postage both ways and I was out $70. It is cheaper to use the 'visa on arrival' system VN has set up if you are flying into VN. I talk about my experience I would use that system if flying into VN. Cambodia sells VN visas for about $35, only takes one day. If you are going to visit Cambodia first, I would buy your VN visa when in PP or Sihanoukville.

Find out the price you will have to pay in London. Now you can compare with buying it in Cam. or using the visa on arrival. Good luck with your planning.

Yeah if I was flying in i'd get it on arrival. But i'm not, i'm crossing the border from Cambodia. I think i'll still go to London to check it out tomorrow. Thanks for the advice!

OK. Figure $35 and one day in Phnom Penh for your VN visa..
